Meet Dr. Heather Steffes, Greenville Preferred Chiropractor

"For years my mom suffered with headaches. I watched her try medication after medication without results. It was only after she started under chiropractic care that she was able to get rid of the headaches and feel like herself again."

"I have always wanted to have a career where I could help others. While in college studying biology and chemistry, I was introduced into natural health. The more I learned, the more I know that I had found my calling."

Dr. Heather Steffes went to Marian College in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. There she studied anatomy, cellular biology, and worked as a research assistant in microbiology. Through professors and local health care providers she was introduced to chiropractic. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

"My ultimate goal is to educate my patients on how their bodies work. The more a person understands the underlying causes of a condition, the more they understand different options they have in their treatment."

Dr. Steffes met her husband Rob in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In 2001 they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they were married in Garden of the Gods. They now live in Greenville with their daughter, Avery and their two dogs, Maggie and Bennett.

Dr. Steffes receives chiropractic care once a month. In 2000 Dr. Steffes suffered a neck injury and credits chiropractic care with her recovery, as she did not take medicine for the pain. In 2007 Dr. Steffes completed at 48 hour nutrition program, which allows her to work with her patients on a variety of health needs.

The Doctor Asks some important questions of interest to Greenville residents - Chiropractor Greenville The Doctor Asks...

What are the two things drugs do?
Drugs can either speed up (laxatives, amphetamines, caffeine) a bodily process, or slow down (stomach antacids, sleep aids, antihistamines, muscle relaxers) a bodily process. Chiropractic care can produce the same results, but relies on the intelligence of the body. Chiropractors trust your body. Do you?
What's your plan to deal with drug-resistant 'super germs'?
Chiropractors have always been concerned with the indiscriminate use of antibiotics, accelerating the mutation of microbes that make "wonder" drugs increasingly ineffective. My strategy? Do everything possible to bolster my immune system through proper diet, rest, exercise, clean air, pure water and an optimally functioning nervous system with regular chiropractic care.
